I am excited to introduce my latest project – a mini ear seed kit for natural stress relief. I made the first batch to give away as gifts at my upcoming clinic Open Day, so if you came along and received a kit, it is hot off the press! (And hilariously, back to front, but that is another story!) I have started using ear seeds in the clinic quite a bit lately as I find them such an effective way to enhance and continue the therapeutic effects of acupuncture for days after the actual treatment. Here is some more information about ear seeds and auriculotherapy, and detailed instructions for how to make the most of your Ear Seed Kit. Is there anything better than a hot cup of chai on a chilly Winter’s day? This popular beverage from India traditionally incorporates black tea, aromatic spices, milk and honey, and is already a powerful digestive and immune tonic in its own right. However, add in some extra immune boosting herbs from the Chinese medicine pharmacopoeia and you have a recipe for a deliciously therapeutic superdrink!
Autumn is well and truly here, and the change of season has brought with it a characteristic influx of coughs, colds and flus. Whilst there are many different ways we can boost our immune system using Chinese medicine dietary approaches and herbal medicines, I wanted to write about a simple and delicious remedy that you can make yourself, incorporating both Chinese and Western herbs, for the prevention mild infections. Read on for my TCM inspired Elderberry syrup recipe, and I hope you’ll be inspired to make a batch or two for yourself!
If you asked the average person how Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) keeps you healthy, they would probably answer that it involves acupuncture needles. That is a good start – but TCM is so much more than needles. TCM is a complex understanding of how Qi (loosely translated as energy, or life force), affects your health. Qi flows through meridians passing through points which can be used to regulate and control that flow. When the flow of Qi increases, decreases or its quality changes, your health is affected. The most common way to manage the flow of Qi is with acupuncture needles. But TCM actually incorporates a wide range of therapies that complement each other to bring about health and harmony. In this blog post you will learn three ways to keep yourself healthy using TCM principles at home. By using these techniques in your daily life, you can be in charge of your health.
